From the city to the country, and from red carpets to a carpet of hay – celebs determined to rule the roost.

That's right, Fferm Ffactor is back for a ninth series… but with a twist!

The series returns to Coleg Cambria's Llysfasi site, near Ruthin, and this series will be a glitzy affair: for the first time in the show's history 12 celebrities will be stepping out of heels and into wellington boots. The stars have been sorted into four teams and over three episodes are raring to show off their farming prowess.

Fferm Ffactor presenter Ifan Jones Evans admits, "I'm a little bit worried, because most of them have never been close to a sheep, never mind driving a tractor! What could possibly go wrong?"

However the teams will be captained by a fellow celebrity who's an old hand when it comes to the farming game.

In the first episode, singer and radio presenter Elen Pencwm will hope to lead her team to victory. Joining her team will be TV and radio presenter Alun Williams and former Wales international rugby star, Nathan Brew. Nathan said, "Alun and I will be putting a lot of faith in Elen's farming ability because neither of us has a clue!"

Going head to head with Elen Pencwm's team will be rock climber and Y Sioe presenter Ioan Doyle. He will be joined by the director of Ysgol Glanaethwy performing arts school, Cefin Roberts and star of S4C's 'Run Sbit, Linda Brown. Ioan said, "When I heard who was on my team I thought to myself, 'Wow, there's a challenge ahead!'"

In episode two, author Bethan Gwanas hopes to impart her wisdom as she competes with BBC Radio Cymru presenter Dyl Mei and Twin Town actor Llyr Evans. Team leader Bethan says, "Dyl Mei is our version of 'Google' – he knows everything there is to know. Llyr? I'm not so sure about him!"

Hoping to pip Bethan's team to the post and make it to the final will be author and farming presenter Gareth Wyn Jones' team. Actor, stand-up comedian and events extraordinaire Stifyn Parri and iconic weather presenter Siân Lloyd make up Gareth's team. Gareth seems ready for his challenge, saying "My team bring a lot of drama to everything they do!"

Re-joining the Fferm Ffactor family will be the judges, Caryl Gruffydd Roberts, Richard Tudor and Wyn Morgan. But which celebrity team will impress them enough to win the Fferm Ffactor title and a £3,000 donation to the charity of the winning team's choice? There's only one way to find out!
