Fflur Elin, president o the National Union of Students Wales, has called on the government to change the curriculum to increase the amount of political education taught in schools.

A Welsh Government spokesperson said: "We are committed to making sure young people are engaged in politics and the democratic process. That is why pupils currently study politics and current affairs as part of the new Welsh Baccalaureate and the Personal and Social Education element of the curriculum.

"We are also developing a new curriculum which will be designed to help all young people to develop into ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world."
