This scheme is to help keep people who are living with dementia safe, particularly if, as their condition progresses they start to 'walk about'. The Herbert Protocol is designed to assist in locating individuals safe and well should they go missing, and provide reassurance to family and friends that the police have all the information they need to help locate the individual.
