  • One step closer to Central Square

    On Monday (25 February 2019) 34 S4C technical staff will transfer to the employment of the BBC. This is the latest step as the channel prepares for co-location with the BBC in Central Square, Cardiff at the beginning of 2020. From then the BBC will be responsible for broadcasting and distributing S4C content, on television and online. The BBC will also be responsible for the remainder of S4C's technical infrastructure.

  • Dai looks forward to a new series of Cefn Gwlad

    Following treatment before Christmas, Dai Jones is back on our screens and looking forward to a brand new series of Cefn Gwlad on Tuesday, 19 February on S4C.

    As he continues to recover at home in Llanilar, Dai will have the chance to look back at some of the memorable characters he has met over 35 years of introducing Cefn Gwlad on S4C.

  • New partnership between S4C and Mudiad Meithrin

    S4C and Mudiad Meithrin have announced a brand new partnership to share their commitment to creating opportunities to use, enjoy and hear the Welsh Language.

    The main objective and purpose of Mudiad Meithrin's work is to offer the chance for every young child in Wales to take advantage of early years services and experiences through the medium of Welsh.

  • Megan wins T Glynne Davies Scholarship

    S4C has announced that postgraduate student Megan Davies has won the channel's T Glynne Davies Scholarship for 2018-19.

    Megan, 23, originally from Pontarddulais near Swansea, is currently a student following the MA Broadcast Journalism course at Cardiff University's School of Journalism, Media and Culture.

  • S4C now available in HD on Virgin Media Channel 166

    Virgin Media TV customers can now enjoy S4C programmes in stunning high definition, just in time for the 6 Nations Rugby Championships.

    As part of a renewed partnership between S4C and Virgin Media, Virgin's TV customers can now tune in to S4C's huge range of content, and view S4C programmes in excellent HD quality.

  • New company to provide subtitling service

    S4C has announced that Cyfatebol has won the contract to provide the channel's subtitling service.

    Cyfatebol will provide English subtitles, including English subtitles for live programmes and those delivered close to time of broadcast and Welsh subtitles for S4C over the next four years.

  • Want to lose weight and transform yourself? Entries open for the new series of FFIT Cymru

    A television programme which aims to transform the health and fitness of five people is accepting entries for the new series.

    Cwmni Da, the televison company which produces S4C's FFIT Cymru is encouraging people to put their names forward to be part of the next series, by visiting the website, s4c.cymru/ffitcymru, and clicking on the 'Apply Now' button.

  • S4C Board Member Reappointment

    The Secretary of State has reappointed Hugh Hesketh Evans as Board Member of S4C for a term of 2 years commencing on 20 November 2018.

  • Geraint Evans is S4C’s new News and Current Affairs Commissioner

    S4C are pleased to announce that the new News and Current Affairs Commissioner is Geraint Evans. Geraint is at present Editor of Welsh Language Programmes at ITV Wales, and responsible for programmes such as Y Byd yn ei le, Y Byd ar Bedwar, Ein Byd and Cefn Gwlad.
