S4C appoints new Content Editor Entertainment

14 February 2007

S4C has appointed Gaynor Davies to the newly-created role of Content Editor Entertainment.

Gaynor is an experienced TV presenter and producer. She currently presents the early morning programme on BBC Radio Cymru.

Originally from the Conwy Valley, Gaynor began her career in television with HTV during the early eighties before hosting children’s programmes Hafoc and Slot Sadwrn on S4C. Popular youth magazine show Uned 5 was also Gaynor’s brainchild, which she presented and then produced for seven years. She has also worked on Y Rhaglen Wirion ‘Na and many other entertainment series for S4C.

Gaynor will join the Channel at the end of March and will report to Rhian Gibson, S4C’s Director of Commissioning.

Rhian Gibson said: “With Gaynor’s widespread experience in the field of entertainment and children’s programmes I look forward to working with her to provide entertainment across the schedule and to further developing S4C’s provision for the whole family.”

Gaynor Davies said: “It will be great to step back into television after being in radio for three years. And although I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, one thing I won’t miss is getting up at 4.15am every morning!

“I’m looking forward very much to the challenges ahead in these very exciting times for S4C as the Channel prepares for digital switchover.”

Gaynor, who lived near Llanrug in Gwynedd will be based at S4C’s Caernarfon Office.
