S4C to show highlights of Wales’ Euro qualifiers

 S4C will televise exclusive terrestrial highlights of the key Republic of Ireland v Wales Euro qualifier from Dublin’s Croke Park on Saturday, March 24.

The highlights package will be broadcast soon after the final whistle during S4C’s Saturday evening football programme, Y Clwb Pêl-droed (19.10pm), which also features highlights of the Welsh Premier league game between Haverfordwest and Welshpool.

S4C will also be showing extended highlights of the Wales v San Marino European Championship qualification match from Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on the evening of Wednesday 28 March (22.30pm).

S4C’s Content Editor, Sport, Geraint Rowlands said: “S4C is delighted to provide highlights of both Wales’ crucial football qualification matches for terrestrial audiences. It comes in a week when we have top live rugby action from three different competitions and a wide choice of sports highlights programmes, reflecting S4C’s extensive portfolio of sports rights.”

The next seven days on S4C feature live coverage of the EDF Cup semi-final between Blues and Ospreys, the Konica Minolta quarter-final between Llanelli and Pontypridd, highlights of Scarlets v Munster in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals; Dragons v Brive live in the European Challenge Cup, world rugby in Rygbi’r Byd (S4C Digidol only) and European club football in Sgorio.

S4C’s sports coverage is also available on S4C Digidol, which can be accessed via Sky 135 in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and in Wales on Sky 104, Freeview channel 4 and Virgin TV 194.
