Special Pentre Bach show to travel across Wales

14 April 2008

A whole host of familiar faces from the popular S4C children’s series, Pentre Bach, will appear in a special show for nursery-age children which is travelling across Wales.

Youngsters will get the opportunity to enjoy the adventures of Sali Mali, Jac y Jwc and Bili Bom Bom in the show, called Pen-blwydd Pwy? (Whose Birthday?). There will also be a special appearance by Planed Plant Bach presenter Rachael Solomon

Starting in Caerphilly on Monday morning, 21 April, the special show will visit ten locations across the country throughout the week as part of a tour organised by S4C and Twf, an organisation which encourages parents to raise their children bilingually.

Siân Eirian, S4C Head of Children Services, said, “We’re delighted that youngsters across Wales will get the chance to enjoy a live show with some of their favourite Planed Plant Bach characters."

Meryl Pierce, on behalf of Twf, added, “We’re delighted to work with S4C on this tour and it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to share Twf’s message of introducing Welsh in the home. Encouraging children to watch Welsh language television shows like Planed Planed Bach is a fantastic way for them to hear the language.”
