S4C’s live and exclusive coverage of Champions’ League qualifier

  S4C will have live and exclusive coverage of Rhyl’s Champions League qualification match against Serbian champions, FK Partizan of Belgrade, at the Belle Vue ground on Tuesday, 14 July.

S4C’s football flagship Sgorio will be at Rhyl to broadcast the first leg of the Champions' League second qualifying round clash from what has to be the biggest match in the Welsh Premier Champions’ proud history.

Sgorio’s coverage will start at 7.30pm from Belle Vue, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Rhyl have one of the toughest Champions League draws against the Serbian Champions, a club with a great European record as former European Cup finalists.

Produced by Rondomedia, S4C’s Sgorio provides live and highlights overage of the Welsh Premier League and a weekly look at the best of European football during the football season.

The Sgorio coverage will be presented by Gareth Roberts, with Morgan Jones reporting from the touchline. Nic Parry and Malcolm Allen in the commentary box while Dai Davies will provide analysis in the studio.

Former Wales international John Hartson, played in a number of Champion League matches for Scottish giants, Celtic.

John Hartson said: “It’s a tough ask for Rhyl but they are Welsh Champions and had a fantastic season under Allan Bickerstaff. It’s a long shot but upsets can happen, especially with the first leg at home in Belle Vue.”
