Fun and mischief on the red button during the Six Nations

02 February 2011

During the Wales v England Six Nations match, on Friday 4 February at 19:00, S4C viewers will have a choice of two very different kinds of commentary!

Through the red button service, Sky viewers can choose to enjoy the game with a light-hearted and fun commentary by C2 BBC Radio Cymru presenter Magi Dodd, comedian Daniel Glyn and Welsh women’s rugby star Non Evans. The commentary will also be available on the BBC Radio Cymru website.

"The intention is to try to appeal to viewers who may not be big rugby fans, but enjoy watching big games like Wales v England and want something a little different," says Magi Dodd, C2 presenter.

"Daniel and I aren’t avid fans of rugby but we thoroughly enjoy the game. We represent the voice of the viewers who don’t understand all the technical rules. Good luck to our expert Non Evans as she tries to teach us!"

Ardent rugby fans will be glad to hear that the usual top-quality team will cover the match on S4C’s main service when anchor Gareth Roberts is joined by commentators Huw Llywelyn Davies and Gwyn Jones, reporter Dot Davies and an analysis team which includes ex internationals Gareth Edwards, Derwyn Jones and Brynmor Williams.
