13 November 2012

Wales’ Young Farmers Club Eisteddfod will be broadcast live on-line on the S4C website - s4c.co.uk - for the first time in its history this year.

Eisteddfod Ffermwyr Ifanc Cymru is being held at the school hall in Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Fishguard on Saturday, 17 November - and the stage competitions will be live on the web at s4c.co.uk from 10.30am until 8.30pm.

The on-line live transmission complements the live evening coverage on Eisteddfod Ffermwyr Ifanc: Digwyddiadau '12 which starts at 8.30pm.

Morgan Jones, Mari Grug and Ifan Jones Evans present the live television programme which will include live stage competitions and live backstage interviews, along with edited highlights of the day’s competitions.

Rondo and Telesgôp are co-producing the S4C coverage on line and on TV and it will include the usual colourful mixture of stage competitions such as sketches, singing and recitation, along with the literary awards ceremonies.

Broadcaster Terwyn Davies will be the out-of-vision commentator, giving background information about the competitions.

Geraint Rowlands, S4C’s Head of Broadcast and Commissioner for Sport and Events said, “We are very pleased to be broadcasting the 2012 Wales Young Farmers’ Club Eisteddfod live on the web. It reflects S4C's commitment to reach audiences on every platform possible wherever they are at the time. The web is the perfect platform for this festival as many young people across Wales have a huge interest in this annual event. Those who are unable to come to Fishguard can enjoy it at home or on their farms.”
