Live Friday night games from Sgorio on S4C website

15 February 2013

S4C has launched a new service for football fans on its website giving them the chance to see Welsh Premier League games live on Friday nights as part of their Sgorio service.

The first game – between Prestatyn and Airbus - will be shown tonight (Friday 15 February) from 7.30pm with Bryn Tomos commentating. The games can be seen on s4c.co.uk/clic

Geraint Rowlands, S4C Sports Commissioner and Head of Broadcasting, said:

“This is a service we will offer weekly when there’s a Friday night game. It’s linked to the full Sgorio provision of a live game and a football results and news service on Saturday afternoons and Welsh Premier League and La Liga highlights on Monday nights.”

Wrexham’s first leg of the English FA Trophy semi-final will be shown live on S4C tomorrow (Saturday 16 February). Wrexham will play Gainsborough Trinity in the first of two legs in the semi-final.

S4C will be the only TV channel to show the game live with the kick-off at 12.45 (the programme starts at 12.30) and there will be more football shown later in the programme at 15.00 as Bangor challenge Port Talbot in the Welsh Premier League.

During the game viewers will have the choice of following the game with Welsh commentary or English commentary via the red button service. The game will also be available live on the S4C website and for 35 days afterwards on s4c.co.uk/clic

Highlights of the second leg will be shown on S4C in Sgorio on Monday 25 February at 10.00.
