Huw Edwards quizzed at National Eisteddfod

01 August 2014

The broadcast journalist, and TV presenter, Huw Edwards will discuss his work and view on Welsh journalism at the Carmarthenshire National Eisteddfod in Llanelli next week.

On Thursday, 7 August, at 1.00pm the Llangennech bred BBC news anchor will take part in a special Q&A session held at the S4C pavilion on the Eisteddfod Maes.

Among other subjects, he will also discuss his passion for Welsh history, and his recent work on a new book delving into the history of London's Welsh Churches; a subject he will explore further in an S4C series due for broadcast in 2015.

He'll also discuss some of the subjects covered in his most recent series for S4C, Creu Cymru Fodern which was broadcast in March 2014, in which he charted the astonishing changes which have created modern Wales over the last 250 years.

S4C's Content Commissioner for Factual programming is Llion Iwan.

Llion Iwan says; "Huw Edwards is a face recognised by millions as news anchor on BBC flagship News at Ten. But many in the 2014 National Eisteddfod's host county, Carmarthenshire, will know him as the local boy from Llangennech. This is a chance to hear him talk his work and career and also share his about his passion for Welsh history."

Held on Thursday 7 August, 1.00pm at the S4C Pavilion on the National Eisteddfod Maes, the session is open to all on a first come first served basis.
