S4C announce live coverage of Wales Nations League and UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifiers

S4C today announced that they will be showing live coverage of each of Wales's games in both the inaugural UEFA Nations League tournament and the UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers.

The agreement with UK and Ireland host broadcaster Sky Sports, also includes the two friendly fixtures against Spain and Albania.

The 16-match deal means that viewers will be able to enjoy live coverage on free-to-air television in the Welsh language. Wales' first game in the Nations League will be against the Republic of Ireland at the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday 6 September, followed two days later with Denmark v Wales in Aarhus.

The two exhibition fixtures are against Spain in Cardiff on 11 October and away in Albania on 20 November.

Wales's UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying campaign begins in March 2019, with each of the ten games to be shown live in the Welsh language on the free-to-air national channel.

S4C Director of Content, Amanda Rees said, "This is excellent news for S4C viewers and Welsh football fans. We all remember the last EURO competition in 2016 and the joy and pleasure that bought to everyone in Wales.

"S4C were privileged to be able to bring that experience to our viewers. I hope the road to 2020 will be as exciting and successful both on the field and on the screen.

Coverage will be presented by the experienced team at S4C's flagship football series Sgorio. For the first game, against the Republic of Ireland, a trio of former internationals John Hartson, Owain Tudur Jones and Malcolm Allen will join Dylan Ebenezer to present the action from the Cardiff City Stadium.

All games will be shown live on S4C with coverage produced for S4C by Rondo Media.
