Four New York Festival International Awards for S4C

Four S4C programmes have received International praise atthe 2019 New York Festivals International Film and Television Awards final held on the 9th of April.

Hit children's series Deian a Loli (Cwmni Da) won a finalist certificate in the Children's Entertainment category. Deian a Loli has proved to be one of S4C's most popular children's programme and also won a highly commended prize at the Broadcast awards in London in February.

Elin Fflur's emotional documentary DRYCH: Chdi, Fi ac IVF (Tinopolis) also won a finalist certificate. The programme touched the hearts of the panel and won recognition in the Health Documentary category.

Influential documentary Ffion Dafis: Bras, Botox a'r Bleidlais (Rondo Media) won a bronze medal in the Community Documentary category. This inspiring programme follows Ffion's personal journey and tells the stories of some of Wales' amazing women.

Scooping a silver medal at the awards was hit drama Craith (Severn Screen). Craith has received global interest and the second series will be aired on S4C in the Autumn.

S4C's Creative Content Director, Amanda Rees said:

"Congratulations to all the winners. This is a credit to the talented production companies that we have in Wales. Having the opportunity to raise the profile of S4C, Wales and the Welsh language on an international stage is something very special and is of great pride to us."

The New York International Film and Television Awards celebrates the creativity of the media industry across fifty different countries. The ceremony was held in Las Vegas on the 9th of April.
