Training and Development

S4C is committed to supporting the development of skills and training within the industry in Wales. This is currently undertaken in conjunction with Creative Skillset Cymru, through the match-funded 'Skills for the Digital Economy' programme, which runs until June 2015, and by working with TAC (Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru) and Welsh-medium training provider Cyfle. S4C requires that production companies have training plans in place for their staff.

S4C's training strategy is being updated in 2015.

* To view the brief in 'Word' format you will need to have Word 2000 or above installed on your computer. If you do not have this application you can download a free viewer by clicking here

** If you have problems installing Brief, this can be caused by security settings on your computer which may prevent you from installing applications. If your settings completely prevent you from installing applications, you should contact the person responsible for administrating your computer and ask them to install Brief for you. Sometimes your settings will only prevent you from installing programmes into the Program Files folder on your computer. If this is the case, when you are installing Brief you can pick a different folder to install Brief into. When you are prompted to select the installation folder, it will default to "C:\Program Files\S4C\Brief\". If you click the browse button, you will be able to pick a different program folder that you do have access to, e.g. "C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\".

*** You only need to download and install this once per computer.
