Neville Powell, one of the Welsh Premier League’s most recognisable faces is the next person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Nev has been involved with the league since its formation in 1992 – first as a player in the famous blue shirts of Bangor City before moving to Connah’s Quay in 1993 to start his managerial career.
After 14 years on Deeside, he returned to Farrar Road to wake the sleeping giant, leading the Citizens to three successive Welsh Cup wins between 2008 and 2010.
And in 2011 he succeeded in fulfilling every Bangor fan’s wish by bringing the League Championship trophy back to Farrar Road for the first time since 1995.
On this day in 1981 Swansea beat Chelsea 3-0 at the Vetch thanks to goals from Neil Robinson, Jimmy Hadziabdic and Robbie James.
