On Saturday 4 June, the Welsh Premier League annual awards night will be held at St David’s Park Hotel at Ewloe, and one of the awards up for grabs is the ‘Young Player of the Year’ award.

Here’s a quick look at the three players who have been nominated on the shortlist this year:

James Joyce (MBi Llandudno)
30 apps, 3 goals in WPL 2015/16.
9 clean sheets in WPL 2015/16.
Helped Llandudno qualify for Europe in their first season in the WPL.

James Murphy (Airbus UK)
17 (+10) apps, 3 goals in WPL 2015/16.
Topped the Airbus assist chart with 5 assists in WPL this season.
8 goals in all competitions in 2015/16 (3 WPL, 2 Word Cup, 3 Welsh Cup).

Matty Owen (Newtown)
30 (+1) apps, 7 goals in WPL 2015/16.
6 assists in WPL this season.
9 goals in all competitions in 2015/16 (7 WPL, 1 Word Cup, 1 Welsh Cup).
Has recently signed for gap Connah’s Quay.
