On Sunday afternoon Wales will welcome Georgia to the Cardiff City Stadium as Chris Coleman’s side hope to continue their good start to the World Cup Qualifying campaign, and match highlights will be brought to you by Sgorio at 10:30 on S4C.

After the opening two matches, Wales top Group D on goal difference, joint on four points each with Serbia, Austria and the Republic of Ireland.

But Wales have never beaten Georgia!

The nations have met three time and Georgia have won on all three occasions so far.

Previous meetings:
20/08/08 – Wales 1-2 Georgia
07/06/95 – Wales 0-1 Georgia
16/11/94 – Georgia 5-0 Wales

Georgia won 5-0 in their first ever meeting back in November 1994 with ex-Newcastle striker, Temur Ketsbaia grabbing a hat-trick for the Georgians.

Wales lost 1-2 in their last meeting in a friendly at the Liberty Stadium with Jason Koumas’ first half strike being cancelled out mid-way through the second half before Georgia sneaked a winner in injury time.

Wales are now 127 places above Georgia in the FIFA rankings and therefore should be too strong for the visitors on the night.

Georgia have never reached a national tournament and after failing to secure a point from their opening two games in the current campaign, chances are slim that they will get to the Russia World Cup.

It looks like Wales will be without Stoke midfielder, Joe Allen who was forced off with an injury against Austria after scoring a wonderful first half volley in Vienna.

His absence will be a big loss for Wales who are also without Aaron Ramsey and Jonny Williams who have been left out of the squad through injuries.

Highlights of Wales v Georgia on S4C, 9 October at 22:30.
