John Rooney, the 25 year old brother of Wayne Rooney has joined Wrexham Football Club.
The former Chester player has signed on a 1 year contract after playing over 100 games for Wrexham’s cross border rivals.
Rooney can operate in central midfield or behind the strikers.
He started his career at Everton before moving to Macclesfield were he played 41 games before moving to America to play for the New York Red Bulls and Orlando City.
He described Wrexham as a massive club and after having a short conversation with Gary Mills he was confident that there is success to be had at the Racecourse ground.
He also said that he was confident that they could challenge for the title next year.
His famous older brother scored his first goals for Everton against Wrexham at the Racecourse back in October 2002, breaking the record for the youngest goal scorer in the history of Everton Football Club.
