With the opening game of Euro 2016 nearly upon us, the time has come to put the pundits to the test and predict what will happen in the Championships.

Each of the pundits have predicted that Wales will escape from Group B but Malcolm Allen, Owain Tudur Jones and Dylan Ebenezer see Wales reaching the quarter-finals and are a little more confident of Chris Coleman’s team’s chances than Iwan Roberts and Nic Parry, who predict that Wales will be knocked out in the second round.

Malcolm Allen and Owain Tudur agree that the hosts – France – will be European champions, while Nic Parry predicts that the trophy will cross the border to Belgium.

Iwan Roberts has picked Germany while Dylan Ebenezer thinks that a team from Group B will lift the trophy, but he’s picked England, rather than Wales!

Both Iwan Roberts and Owain Tudur predict that Austria, who are in the same qualifying group as Wales for the next World Cup, will be the dark horses of the Championships.

Two Welshmen have been picked as the player to watch during the tournament – Iwan Roberts choosing Gareth Bale and Dylan Ebenezer picking Aaron Ramsey.

France’s Antoine Griezmann will be the star man according to Malcolm Allen, while Nic Parry predicts that Dele Alli will make his breakthrough this summer. According to Owain Tudur Jones, the star of Euro 2016 will be Zlatan Ibrahimovic, in his last major tournament.
