Cardiff Met will face Bangor in the WPL play-off final

A late Charlie Corsby goal against Carmarthen sends the Students through to the play-off final for a place in next season’s Europa League qualifying rounds.

Cardiff Met secured their place in the play-off final in their first season in the Welsh Premier League after beating Carmarthen 1-2.

Liam Griffiths opened the scoring for Carmarthen with his first goal for the club, but Cardiff Met levelled on the hour with Adam Roscrow pouncing on a Dwaine Bailey missed judged header, with the forward chipping Lee Idzi to level the score.

In a dramatic ending Charlie Corsby headed the Students through to the final in their first season in the Welsh top flight.

In the first semi-final Bangor beat Newtown 3-2 thanks to goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Dan Nardiello and Gary Roberts, securing the Citizen’s place in the final.

The Welsh Premier League play-off final for a place in next season’s Europa League qualifying rounds will take place next Saturday, the 13th of May at Nantporth Stadium, Bangor as Bangor City FC face Cardiff Met FC. The game will be shown live on Sgorio at 17:00 with kick-off at 17:15.
