Newtown v Connah’s Quay | Saturday – KO: 17:15
Connah’s Quay will aim to bounce straight back from their midweek defeat to Bangor City when they travel to Latham Park on Saturday.
John Danby was the man of the match at Nantporth on Tuesday as he produced save after save to keep the scoreline respectable.
Despite the defeat, Connah’s Quay still boast one of the best defensive records in the league (conceded three in six).
Newtown have not conceded in their last two match (vs Aberystwyth and Prestatyn), but they face a tougher test this weekend against last year’s WPL runners-up.
These two clubs have already met 50 times in the WPL and they have an equal head-to-head record: Newtown won 20 (40%), Connah’s Quay won 20 (40%), drawn 10 (20%).
The Robins have won their last three home matches against Connah’s Quay, and not one of the last 14 meetings between the sides have been drawn.
