Newtown v Bala Town | Thursday – 19:45
Bala are on a terrible run of five WPL games without a win (lost 4, drawn 1, scored 1) – their worst run in the WPL since December 2012.

Adding their cup loss to Newtown to that run (0-1), Bala have gone six games without a win in all competitions, scoring only once in 540 minutes of football.

It was the cup defeat to Newtown that triggered the poor run, and Bala will look to end the run against the same opponents.

The Lakesiders have lost all three of their away games this season and have failed to score a single goal away from home (vs TNS, CQ and Cefn).

A lack of goals has certainly been an issue for Bala – only Aberystwyth (4) have scored less than Bala (6) this season.

Like Bala Town, scoring has not come easy for Newtown recently who have failed to score in four of their last five league games.

The Robins haven’t scored in their last three league games against Bala Town.

Having said that, the defence have been solid, keeping five clean sheets in their last seven games in all competitions.

Newtown have only conceded once in their last five games all competitions, and that was a debatable goal against Connah’s Quay, live on Sgorio.

Last meeting:
Bala Town 0-1 Newtown (29/08/17) League Cup
Bala Town 3-0 Newtown (11/08/17)
