After thirteen years in the footballing wilderness, Barry Town have secured promotion back into the Dafabet Welsh Premier League.
Gavin Chesterfield’s side managed to regain their place with the elite by beating Goytre United by three goals to one on Tuesday night, a result that meant they were certain of finishing in the top two in the Welsh League.
With the club already successful in their Domestic Licence application, Barry Town’s result means that two clubs will be promoted to the Welsh Premier for the third successive season. Seven-time league champions Barry Town and 2013 Welsh Cup winners will compete in the Super Twelve next season.
