Four players have been shortlisted for the WPL Young Player of the Season Award for 2017/18. The Winner will be revealed at the JD Welsh Premier League Awards 2017/18 on Saturday 2 June.
Matthew Hall – Bangor City
Winning a place in the City starting XI towards the end of October, Hall quickly established the position as his own, keeping ten clean sheets in amongst a series of impressive performances that helped his side to second in the table.
Tom Holland – The New Saints
An almost ever present in his first season at Park Hall, Holland has quickly formed a partnership with Ryan Brobbel and Aeron Edwards in the heart of the Saints side that secured another League and League Cup double.
Dean Rittenberg – Bangor City
City’s Top scorer, Rittenberg’s eleven goals also saw him finish joint fourth in the WPL scoring charts. The striker also finished top of the scoring charts in the Nathaniel MG Cup, which was sealed through notching a four goal haul at home to Denbigh Town in Round 2.
Luke Wall – Bangor City
Wall featured in every league game for City, scoring five and providing four assists from the wing, whilst also turning in a MotM performance in the Welsh Cup against Penydarren, in which he scored an impressive hat-trick.
