Connah’s Quay will face Shakhtyor Soligorsk of Belarus in the first qualifying round of the Europa League. The Nomads home round will be played at Rhyl’s Belle Vue ground on the 12 of July, with their away leg on the 19th of July.

Since gaining their place in Europe for the first time in their history in 2016 Connah’s Quay have secured European football for the last three seasons. Andy Morrison’s men won their first round in their first ever European round against Stabaek of Norway (1-0), only to lose 1-3 against Vojvodina of Serbia In 2016
The Nomads beat HJK Helsinki in the first leg of last season’s first qualifying round only to lose 0-3 in the away leg.
Soligorsk finished last season in second place and have competed in the Europa League qualifying rounds since 2011.
The club have never reached the group stages of the competition but have reached the play-off round – only to lose 0-3 to PSV Eindhoven in 2015.
In last season’s Europa League qualifiers Soligorsk lost in the first round to FK Suduva of Lithuania (1-2).
Shakhtyor Soligorsk have a talented squad with Dzyanis Laptsew (12 cap), Syarhey Matsveychyk (11 cap) & Yury Laptsew (12 cap) all winning over 10 caps for Belarus.
