Sgorio picks the five Welsh Premier League players that stood out over the weekend.
Keighan Jones (Bala Town)
With Ashley Morris out injured, Keighan Jones showed that he is more than capable of deputising in his absence. His top saves inspired Bala to their first ever victory over Caernarfon in the Welsh Premier League. This was his first ever clean sheet in the WPL.
George Hughes (Newtown)
George Hughes scored his first ever Welsh Premier League goal in some style last weekend – his sublime effort on the hour mark helped secure fifth position for Newtown as well as a home tie against Bala in the play-offs.
Tim Parker (Cardiff Met)
League goals have been like London buses for Tim Parker this season – after waiting almost two seasons for his first league goal, the midfielder scored twice within half an hour at Cyncoed Campus to help Met come from behind and defeat Llanelli.
Liam Thomas (Carmarthen)
After scoring his second hat-trick of the season vs Aberystwyth last weekend, Liam Thomas has reached 24 goals for the season – his highest ever scoring season! He holds the record for the most amount of goals scored by a Carmarthen player in a WPL season.
Jack Kenny (Cefn Druids)
Jack Kenny hasn’t looked back since leaving Connah’s Quay for Cefn Druids in January – his brace against Llandudno at the weekend meant that he has scored six goals in his last five league appearances.
