The JD Cymru Premier is back and Sgorio has picked the five Welsh Premier League players that stood out over the weekend.
Josh Tibbetts (Bala Town)
After signing from Southport in the summer, Josh Tibbetts has already impressed at Bala. He played a key role in the victory over Airbus on Friday night following a host of great saves. Colin Caton said after the match that Ashley Morris will have to fight to regain his place in the side due to Tibbetts’ good performances.
Curtis Strong (Airbus UK)
It was a good start to the season for Curtis Strong – the left back’s stunning effort from range was Airbus UK’s first Cymru Premier goal since 2017.
Marc Williams (Aberystwyth)
What a start to the season it’s been for Marc Williams – after scoring a brace against Cambrian & Clydach in the Nathaniel MG Cup at the beginning of the season, he added another two goals to his growing tally on the weekend against Carmarthen. An inspiring performance from the Seasiders’ captain.
Ryan Brobbel (The New Saints)
Ryan Brobbel has hit the ground running again this season. His free kick from the edge of the box secured the three points for the Champions of Wales at Park Hall on Sunday.
Jonathan Hood (Barry Town)
There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and Jonathan Hood scoring an absolute screamer. His stupendous half volley saw Barry leave Bridgend with a hard-fought victory. However, things went downhill quickly from there for Hood – he was sent off for using offensive language towards the 4th official and will serve a three-match suspension for his actions.
On this day in 1990 Wales started their Euro 92 qualifying campaign with a 3-1 win over Belgium.
