Sgorio has picked the five JD Cymru Premier players that stood out over the weekend.
Michael Jones (Cefn Druids)
Michael Jones was unlucky to be on the losing side of things on Sunday after making several good saves against Barry Town. It took a wonderful Chris Hugh goal to prevent Jones from getting his second clean sheet of the season.
Chris Hugh (Barry Town)
What a performance from Chris Hugh on Sunday – his sublime solo effort secured all three points for Barry and lifted his side to the top of the JD Cymru Premier table. This was his first league goal since scoring against Carmarthen last December.
Curtis Jemmett-Hutson (Pen-y-bont)
Curtis Jemmett-Hutson played a key role in Pen-y-bont’s win over Airbus on Saturday – his brace helped his side to their first victory of the season and lifted them from the relegation places to 10th position.
Aeron Edwards (The New Saints)
Aeron Edwards was at his very best on the weekend – he scored twice and created Kurtis Byrne’s second goal to inspire The New Saints to victory at Richmond Park. Scott Ruscoe’s men went 2-0 down after 11 minutes but responded with six goals to remain within a point of league leaders Barry Town.
Will Evans (Cardiff Met)
When Will Evans isn’t scoring goals, he’s creating them! He won a penalty which was converted by Eliot Evans before putting the ball on a plate for Dion Phillips who fired home his first ever Cymru Premier goal. It was a vital win for the students who remain unbeaten and within touching distance of the top two.
