Sgorio has picked the five JD Cymru Premier players that stood out over the weekend.
George Ratcliffe (Barry Town)
It takes a special performance to keep a clean sheet at Park Hall – which is exactly what George Ratcliffe did on Saturday. His stunning display between the sticks for Barry played a huge part in the win and helped create a four-point gap for Gavin Chesterfield’s men at the top of the table.
Evan Press (Barry Town)
Evan Press scored his first ever goal in the JD Cymru Premier on Saturday – and what a way to do it! His thunderous strike left Paul Harrison with no chance and was enough to secure the three points for Barry in Oswestry.
Chris Venables (Bala Town)
Chris Venables has been unstoppable so far this season – the experienced forward now has eight goals in eight games after scoring his fourth brace of the season against Aberystwyth. Venables is the league’s leading scorer and appears in Sgorio’s 5-on-form for the second time this season.
Jamie Insall (Connah’s Quay)
After scoring against Guilsfield in the third round of the Welsh Cup last week, Jamie Insall added to his growing tally of goals with a brace against Pen-y-bont on Sunday. Insall also won a penalty for the Nomads, securing yet another win for Andy Morrison’s men, bringing them level on points with The New Saints in second.
Jamie Breese (Caernarfon)
Jamie Breese’s goal was the difference between Caernarfon and his former club Newtown on Friday night – he reacted quickest to Dave Jones’ mistake before finding the net with a deft chip. This was Breese’s 100th appearance in the JD Cymru Premier, and his goal means that Caernarfon are now six points clear of the Bottom Six.
On this day in 1968, a record crowd gathered at the Vetch Field, Swansea to witness the Swans' 4th round FA Cup match against Arsenal.
