It’s the final Welsh Premier League gameweek of the season and Caernarfon are within touching distance of 4th place, whilst Newtown and Bala are still fighting for a home tie in the play-offs.

Friday night, 26 April

Carmarthen v Aberystwyth | Friday night – 19:45

Following the win at the Rock last weekend, the Old Gold have leapfrogged Druids in the league and are now 9th. This is the first time that Carmarthen have won three consecutive league games this season.

Aberystwyth will undoubtedly be disappointed after they lost to Cardiff Met last weekend – the defeat meant that Matthew Bishop’s men have missed out on a play-off place for the fourth season in a row.

However, a win on Friday would leave Aberystwyth on 47 points – their highest amount in four seasons.

Aber haven’t won at Richmond Park since September 2016 (0-5). Geoff Kellaway scored a hat-trick in this game – something the attacker has failed to do ever since!

Recent games:
Aberystwyth 3-2 Carmarthen (08/03/19)
Aberystwyth 1-1 Carmarthen (30/11/18)
Carmarthen 2-2 Aberystwyth (22/09/18)

Llandudno v Cefn Druids | Friday night – 19:45

Llandudno certainly didn’t look like a relegated side last weekend – The Seasiders hammered Llanelli at Stebonheath Park 4-0 in Tudno’s first league win since February.

The Ancients will look to regain 9th place on Friday – if Aber beat Carmarthen, a point at Llandudno will be enough to lift Druids above the Old Gold.

Llandudno have never beaten Cefn Druids at home in the Welsh Premier League.

Recent games:
Cefn Druids 2-2 Llandudno (08/03/19)
Llandudno 0-0 Cefn Druids (26/10/18)
Cefn Druids 2-1 Llandudno (01/09/18)

Cardiff Met v Llanelli | Friday night – 19:45

After defeating Aberystwyth last weekend, Cardiff Met have secured 7th place as well as an opportunity to reach Europe via the play-offs.

Met will play away from home against the side who finishes in 4th.

Llanelli look desperate for the season to end – the defeat vs Llandudno last weekend means that it’s now 10 league games without a win for the Reds.

Llanelli have never beaten Cardiff Met in the Welsh Premier League.

Recent games:
Llanelli 0-4 Cardiff Met (08/03/19)
Cardiff Met 4-0 Llanelli (14/12/18)
Llanelli 0-2 Cardiff Met (12/10/18)

Llanelli: ❌❌❌❌❌

Bala Town v Caernarfon | Friday night – 19:45

What a massive game for the Cofis – a point at Maes Tegid will secure 4th place for Caernarfon, meaning their play-off games will be held at the Oval! A massive advantage when considering that 9 of the Canaries’ 13 wins in the league this season have come at home!

If Newtown lose at Jenner Park, a win for Bala would lift the Lakesiders to 5th in the league – this would mean that Bala would play Newtown at home in the play-off semi-final.

Bala have yet to beat Caernarfon in the Welsh Premier League.

Recent games:
Caernarfon 1-0 Bala Town (08/03/19)
Bala Town 1-3 Caernarfon (12/01/19)
Caernarfon 2-2 Bala Town (05/10/18)

Barry Town v Newtown | Friday night – 19:45

Newtown still have a glimmer of hope of finishing in 4th – Chris Hughes’ men must win by a two-goal margin and Caernarfon must lose by two goals or more for this to happen.

The draw vs Connah’s Quay last weekend meant that Barry secured a 3rd place finish in the league – an incredible achievement for Gavin Chesterfield’s men.

Newtown haven’t had much luck at Jenner Park over the years – their last league win at Barry came in the 2000-01 season!

Recent games:
Newtown 3-0 Barry Town (09/03/19)
Barry Town 4-1 Newtown (01/12/18)
Newtown 2-0 Barry Town (06/10/18)

Newtown: ✅❌❌❌❌

The New Saints v Connah’s Quay | Friday night – 19:45

With the championship already settled, Friday night’s game will be a good preview ahead of the Welsh Cup Final next week.

TNS are on fire in the league – thye’ve not lost a WPL game since November (0-1 vs Caernarfon, 09/11/18)!

They’ve also won 13 of their last 14 league games, scoring 58 and conceding only 4 in the process.

The Nomads haven’t been at their best lately – winning only two of their last 5 league games.

Recent games:
Connah’s Quay 0-2 The New Saints (09/03/19)
The New Saints 3-0 Connah’s Quay (20/10/18)
Connah’s Quay 1-0 The New Saints (19/08/18)
