Sgorio has picked the five JD Cymru Premier players that stood out over the festive period.
Mike Lewis (Barry Town)
Mike Lewis proved himself to be a key player for Barry over the festive period. The experienced shot stopper played both matches against Met in the absence of George Ratcliffe, keeping a clean sheet at Cyncoed Campus as Barry secured their place in the Top Six.
Luke Bowen (Carmarthen)
Luke Bowen starred for the Old Gold over the festive period – his brace helped Carmarthen secure only their second win of the season against Pen-y-bont on Boxing Day, before scoring a last minute equaliser in the reverse fixture to win a vital point for Carmarthen at the SDM Glass Stadium.
Chris Venables (Bala Town)
Chris Venables just can’t stop scoring at the moment! The league’s top scorer added another three goals to his collection against Caernarfon in the double header over the festive period, with two of those goals coming on Boxing Day at the Oval, live on Sgorio. Venables now has 18 goals in 19 league matches this season.
Jamie Insall (Connah’s Quay)
Jamie Insall played a vital part in Connah’s Quay’s victories over Airbus UK during the festive period – he scored a total of three goals over the two matches as Connah’s Quay kept the pressure on league leaders TNS. Insall is the Nomads’ top scorer in the JD Cymru Premier with 12 goals.
Greg Draper (The New Saints)
Greg Draper was in fine form over the festive period – he scored a hat-trick on Boxing Day against Cefn Druids in the first match of the double header, before netting his 150th league goal for TNS in the reverse fixture. Draper now has 17 league goals to his name, only one goal behind leading scorer Chris Venables.
Greg Draper has scored a goal every 54 minutes on average in the JD Cymru Premier this season.
