The New Saints have lost their court case against the Football Association of Wales. The High Court considered that the FAW’s decision to cut the season due to the Covid-19 pandemic was fair.

On the morning of Monday 13 July the Football Association announced in a statement that they ‘welcome the affirmative decision’ of the high court over the case brought against them by The New Saints following the curtailment of the 2019/20 Welsh Premier League season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Saints had taken legal action after Connah’s Quay won the Cymru Premier title for the first time in their history in May by an unweighted points-per-game method, with TNS Chairman Mike Harries favouring league placing being decided on when the Cymru Premier split earlier this season – on that basis TNS would have been champions.
