A crucial game in the race for the Championship live from the Deeside Stadium. The New Saints are familiar front runners in the JD Cymru Premier, as champions for the last eight seasons. But Connah’s Quay Nomads have been biting at their heels for many years and have sealed second position in two of the last three seasons. Andy Morrison’s team will hope to go one better this season. All the action live with Dylan Ebenezer, with English commentary available with former managers Mark Jones and Tom Morgan. Sgorio live this Friday at 19:55, with kick off at 20:00.
Connah’s Quay v The New Saints | Friday – 20:00 (S4C)
The New Saints have lost five league games for the first time since the 2007/08 season, and the champions start the weekend one point behind their opponents Connah’s Quay.
The clubs were in a similar position last season when the Nomads were leading the pack before TNS claimed an away win at the Deeside Stadium before going on to win the championship by 12 points – Connah’s Quay have not lost at the Deeside Stadium since that defeat in March last year.
The New Saints are on a strong run of six games without defeat against Connah’s Quay (won 5, drawn 1) and it was Scott Ruscoe’s side celebrating after the last meeting between the sides in January, although Andy Morrison felt quite aggrieved that a few contentious decisions went in the Saints’ favour that night.
