The Welsh Cup quarter final clash between holders Bangor and Llanelli on Saturday, 27 February will be broadcast live and exclusive on S4C.
Sgorio’s team of presenters and pundits, including ex-Wales striker Malcolm Allen and Nic Parry will present the live match at Farrar Road from 5.00pm (kick-off 5.15pm), followed by highlights of the day’s other cup matches as well as the draw for the semi-final.
The match will feature English subtitles and simultaneous streaming will also be available live online at s4c.co.uk. English commentary will also be available for Sky viewers via the red button service.
The two teams have met on many occasions in the cup, including the infamous 2008 Cup final where Bangor went on to win 4 – 2 after extra time.
S4C’s Content Editor Sport, Geraint Rowlands, said: “This is the first time for us to broadcast a Welsh Cup quarter final live on S4C and we’re excited at adding this to our expanding football portfolio and further emphasising our commitment to football in Wales. Matches between the two sides in the past have been quite historic and I’m sure this will be a true classic.”
