S4C Cyw's second book set to be children’s hit this Christmas

Our feathered friend is back in book form as Cyw's second book is published at the end of November – and this year it includes a DVD of some of Cyw's favourite music videos as well.

Following on from the success of the Cyw annual last year, Cyhoeddiadau Sain, alongside S4C and Boom Plant, with financial support from the Welsh Books Council, will publish Hwyl gyda Cyw a'i Ffrindiau.

"It gives us great pleasure to be able to offer an exciting Cyw experience in another annual which will hopefully attract even more children o watch Cyw," says Helen Davies, Boom Plant.

Hwyl gyda Cyw a'i Ffrindiau will be available in bookshops across Wales on Monday 26 November.

The colourful book offers hours of entertainment for little ones:

• stories

• games

• puzzles

• stickers

• a DVD of some of Cyw's favourite songs as well.

"Children absolutely love Cyw," says Sioned Wyn Roberts, Children's Content Commissioner for S4C. "I hope that this new book and the DVD which includes twenty songs such as Cyw a'i Ffrindiau and Dewch i Ddawnsio, will give children hours of fun, and will be something they will treasure in years to come."

Cyw is a modern, digital service which includes television programmes, programmes on the Cyw website, and downloadable apps. The new book and DVD will offer children two new ways to enjoy their favourite programme and characters this Christmas.

“Sain are pleased to be publishing the second Cyw book this Christmas.” says Dafydd Roberts, Chief Executive at Sain. "It's great to be able to add to the existing Cyw merchandise, a character which has proven so popular."

The Cyw Service has recently been nominated for 'Channel of the Year' in the BAFTA UK Children's Award for the third time in four years, the winner of which will be announced at an event in London at the end of November.

For more information about Cyw visit the Cyw website cyw.s4c.co.uk or Cyw's Facebook page, and to see the full range of Cyw merchandise please visit sainwales.com.
