Green light for Un Bore Mercher cameras to start rolling again

20 July 2020

Drama fans will be pleased to know that work has resumed on filming the third and final series of Un Bore Mercher / Keeping Faith.

Gwenllian Gravelle, Drama Commissioner for S4C, said:

"After filming came to a stop so abruptly back in March, the cast and crew are very excited to get back to the set.

"They were about to start shooting against the iconic backdrop of Laugharne when the lockdown kicked in.

"Vox Pictures, which produces the series on behalf of S4C and BBC Cymru Wales, will follow all the guidelines, legislation and protocols set out by the Welsh Government to ensure the safe return of the operation.

"The TV and film industry has been hit hard by Covid-19, and like many other industries it has experienced a very uncertain time.

"So many productions had to stop the cameras rolling very suddenly after months of planning and preparation off set, so it's such a positive feeling to get the green light to get going again."

Now that a safe way of working has been set out, audiences can look forward to another exciting series with Eve Myles returning as Faith Howells, Bradley Freegard as Evan Howells and Mark Lewis Jones as Steve Baldini.

"We're looking forward for Un Bore Mercher to hit the screen for the last time, before the end of the year" added Gwenllian.

"So many things were left open at the end of the second series - I'm sure everyone is on tenterhooks to find out what the fate of Faith and her family will be at the series finale."

Maggie Russell, Executive Producer for BBC Wales said:

"We are hugely thankful for everyone's hard work to get back into production on Keeping Faith, and we look forward to sharing the series with viewers early next year."

Un Bore Mercher / Keeping Faith was originally developed by S4C.

It is produced by Vox Pictures for S4C and BBC in association with Acorn Media, APC and Nevision with support from Business Wales.
