IAAF World Half Marathon Championships Cardiff 2016

Optimwm Productions will be producing S4C's highlights of the IAAF World Half Marathon Cardiff.

Closing Date: 12:00pm, Monday 22 February 2016

S4C have secured the right to broadcast a highlights programme in the Welsh language, of the Cardiff World Half Marathon Championships 2016.

The event takes place in Cardiff on Saturday March 26th 2016.

We are looking for ideas that respond to S4C's aspirations and expectations. A proven ability and track record of producing sports highlights is required.

Production details

It is anticipated that S4C will broadcast a forty five (45) minute highlights programme of the event on Sunday March 27th 2016, exact time to be confirmed.

The international feed will be produced by Film Nova, in HD, and the successful company will need to work closely with them to arrange access to this feed. The final programme should be delivered to S4C in HD.

There will be official IAAF world feed graphics but these can be translated into Welsh. You will also need to adhere to IAAF Brand Guidelines and the titles, set, studio (if used) and any IAAF commercial marks will have to be approved beforehand by the IAAF.

Editorial notes

The programme should tell the story of the World Half Marathon in Cardiff. Presenter-led and including a race edit with interviews, the highlights will reflect the elite event and its importance in the athletics calendar in this Olympic year. For the first time in the UK there will be a mass race at the same time and entertainment along the streets of Wales's capital city. The highlights programme will reflect the fun of this mass participation and celebrate Cardiff as the host city of a global sports event.

It is S4C's ambition to offer its viewers the best experience. We aim to commission authoritative output with a contemporary feel and a credible, informed commentary team. The coverage should reflect the excitement of the races and make the best use of the rights secured.

You are welcome to contact the Commissioner, Sue Butler, for further guidance.
