Delivering Programmes or Master Tapes to the S4C Library

The following copies should be delivered to S4C:

  • 1 x TX Master (on Digi Beta format)
  • 2 x DVD (1 x for the Commissioner, 1 x with BITC for the Library).

Delivering tapes during office hours (via courier / post / by hand)

Tapes should be delivered to the S4C "Goods In" Area and every package should be clearly addressed for the attention of "LIBRARY".

If you require confirmation that the tape(s) have arrived, please contact the Library (029 20741209) to inform us that the tape(s) have been despatched and to provide contact details.

Delivering tapes out of office hours ( via courier / by hand)

Please inform the Library of the estimated arrival time of any material due for transmission the same day, also providing contact and delivery details. (After office hours please keep in touch with the MCR transmission staff and all packages should clearly state that the contents are due for transmission and should be addressed for the attention of MCR with the title and TX time of the programme.)

If you wish to deliver a tape outside office hours please leave the tape in the reception area which is staffed by Security Guards and please address all tapes / packages for the attention of the LIBRARY.

General Information regarding master tapes once they have been received by S4C

On arrival, an S4C tape number is allocated to each master and the details logged in the BSM computer system which enables all departments to have access to details related to the tape and production e.g. delivery dates, content details from the PAC, technical details and "liquidated damages".

Programmes arriving at S4C are given a full technical review and PSE [HD Gordon] test as part of the process of loading programmes onto our transmission server. Programmes that don't conform with the S4C technical requirements are returned to the original production company to be corrected.
