Codi Hwyl

Sailing the high seas to Brittany

One of the most colourful television partnerships will venture further than they've ever done before in a brand new series of Codi Hwyl (Raise the Sail), starting Wednesday, 29 March on S4C.

The new series follows the adventures of the popular actor from Anglesey, John Pierce Jones, and Dilwyn Morgan, the comedian and entertainer from Bala, as they sail from Cardiff to Brittany.

In the first episode, John and Dilwyn sail their boat Mystique from Cardiff across the Channel to the small harbour of L'Aber Wrac'h in Brittany – a trip that took them three days.

From L'Aber Wrac'h they headed for Brest, one of the largest natural harbours in Brittany. Landerne (Landerneau in French) was the next destination before sailing for Douarnenez, made famous in a song by Welsh music legend, Meic Stevens. The last stop before returning to Wales was Konk Kerne (Concarneau), where John and Dilwyn took part in the Blue Nets Festival, a celebration honouring the fishing traditions of the area.

As John and Dilwyn have now made several series of Codi Hwyl together, is there a danger one of them is going to throw the other overboard?
