Coleman has chosen, now it's your turn: S4C's Euro 2016 Fantasy League

02 June 2016

Chris Coleman has chosen his squad for Euro 2016, and now S4C is giving fans a chance to pick their own dream team with the launch of the channel's online Fantasy League.

By now, all the Euro 2016 squads have been chosen, and today, 2 June, S4C has revealed their online Fantasy Football League which puts fans in charge of their ideal Euro 2016 side and play alongside the channel's live coverage of Wales' games in the tournament.

Welsh and Irish broadcasters S4C and TG4 have teamed up to create the first Fantasy Football Leagues which allows fans to choose to play in Welsh and Irish Gaelic.

Huw Marshall, S4C Head of Digital Development says; "This project stems from the frustration that popular sites, such as fantasy football leagues, do not offer the option to play in Welsh. There was only one thing for it, we would have to make our own, and what better time than now - in time for Euro 2016. We've very proud to have worked with TG4 to offer Irish fans the option to play in Irish Gaelic too, and we the partnership will lead to other opportunities to give both languages a stronger presence online.

"Everyone knows the significance of Euro 2016 in Welsh sporting history, and it's important for fans that the Wales matches are available in Welsh, live on S4C. Online, we wanted to give fans something extra - to get involved in a shared experience, and naturally they would want to be able to do this in Welsh."

Go to s4c.cymru/ffantasi to build your team and compete against fans across the country. You have (an imaginary) £100,000,000 to spend on players, with transfer opportunities available as the tournament progresses.

And, by signing up on the s4c.cymru/ffantasi page, there are prizes for the top teams at the end of the competition – with an Apple Watch, a Wales polo shirt and Euro 2016 footballs up for grabs. Go to s4c.cymru/ffantasi to see full terms and conditions. As well as competing against all the registered players on the website, you can also form your own league just for your friends.

You can play in Welsh on the S4C site and in Irish Gaelic on the TG4 website. There is also a third site for those who choose to play in English.
