S4C will celebrate the 150th birthday of Wales’ oldest football club in its new sports show Clwb on Sunday, 12 October.
Clwb will have a special feature at 12.50pm looking at Wrexham FC’s proud history since the club was formed in 1864.
The programme will also have highlights of the anniversary Vanarama Conference match from the town’s Racecourse Ground between Wrexham and Grimsby, the team they beat last year to lift the FA Trophy.
Among the contributors will be some of the club’s biggest stars – Dai Davies, Joey Jones, Wayne Phillips and Dixie McNeil – who have over 1200 appearances between them.
They will look back at a history which includes European cup competition heroics, Welsh Cup wins, FA Cup scalps and in recent years, a battle for survival for the club.
One of the club’s greatest fans, singer Geraint Lovgreen will perform a tribute song to his beloved club on the show.
Clwb starts at 12.30pm and will also include Welsh Premier League football highlights, the Paris-Tours Classic cycling race, live Pro 12 rugby and live horse racing from Ffos Las.
