Young stars tackle a trio of finals in an afternoon of rugby live on the S4C website

16 April 2013

In an afternoon showcasing the best of Wales' future talents, three youth rugby finals will be broadcast live on the S4C rugby website - s4c.co.uk/rygbi – on Wednesday 17 April.

On Wednesday afternoon three school and college rugby finals will be played back to back at the Millennium Stadium.

The afternoon's main event is the showdown between Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Morgannwg in the College Rugby Final. This game kicks off at 3.30pm and you can see it all live on s4c.co.uk/rygbi.

S4C has been following the College Rugby campaign with games broadcast live on the s4c.co.uk/rygbi site throughout the season.

Leading up to the College Rugby Final, the afternoon includes two other live finals on the website. The action begins at midday with the Dewar Shield Under 15s final between Rhondda Schools and Pontypridd Schools.

Following that at 1.30pm is the Under 18s final between Glantaf and Coleg Sir Gâr. The College Rugby Final follows straight after at 3.30pm.

Geraint Rowlands, S4C Sports Commissioner says, "With three titles up for grabs, this is certainly a special occasion for the six teams and their young players who have been given the opportunity to play at the amazing Millennium Stadium. We're proud to showcase their talents live on the S4C website."

If you miss the live web coverage, the College Rugby Final will be broadcast again in full on S4C in the programme Rygbi'r Colegau at 11.05pm later the same night. The programme will feature highlights of the Under 18s and the Dewar Shield Final as well as clips of another game which is played that morning – the Primary Schools' Final between Neath and Tywyn Primary School, Port Talbot.
