Love Island’s Connagh Howard and his dad explore the islands of Wales in new television series

16 September 2020

Filming is underway for a new television series following Love Island star Connagh Howard and his father Wayne on an unique island-hopping journey around Wales.

Cymru, Dad a Fi (Wales, Dad and Me) follows the father and son as they explore the islands, inlets and rocks dotted along the Welsh coastline; the journey will take them from Anglesey and the Llŷn Peninsula in the north, down to Pembrokeshire and the dramatic South Wales coast, before returning home to Cardiff.

Filming for the S4C series, which is produced by Caernarfon-based Cwmni Da, has already begun, with Connagh and Wayne having already visited Wales' largest island, Anglesey, and a host of smaller surrounding islands.

In this light-hearted programme, the pair go on a journey of self-discovery as they meet new people, take part in a host of exciting activities and visit parts of Wales that they have never been to before. We will also learn more about their family history and about their Welsh, Jamaican and Irish heritage.

Connagh and his father, Wayne

Series producer, Mali Parry-Jones, said: "It's been a pleasure to get to know Wayne and Connagh on this journey. With their Jamaican roots and Connagh's experience on Love Island last year, it's quite fitting for them to be exploring the spectacular islands of Wales together.

"They have thrown themselves into the series, physically and emotionally, and have got to know Wales a bit better by meeting different groups and individuals and visiting new places. We've also enjoyed going out to sea on different boats to visit these stunning islands. Personally, it's been a bit of a dream job for me so far, and I can't wait for viewers to enjoy this heart-warming, uplifting series."

Cymru, Dad a Fi will be shown on S4C in December.
