12 BAFTA Cymru nominations for S4C

S4C has been nominated for 12 BAFTA Cymru awards this year following the release of the list of nominees today, Tuesday 7 September.

S4C scooped every nomination in the Entertainment Programme category with Am Dro (Cardiff Productions), Dolig Ysgol Ni: Maesincla (Darlun TV), Priodas Pum Mil (Boom Cymru) and Sgwrs Dan y Lloer: Kristoffer Hughes (Tinopolis) making the list.

Also, Elin Fflur has been nominated in the Presenter category for her work on the popular series Sgwrs Dan y Lloer (Tinopolis).

Un Bore Mercher (Vox Pictures) made the list for the best TV Drama and S4C has received two nominations in the Children's Programme category with Deian a Loli (Cwmni Da) and Mabinogi-ogi a Mwy (Boom Cymru).

S4C has also received two nominations in the News and Current Affairs category.

A special edition of the programme Pawb a'i Farn (Tinopolis) on Black Lives Matter has been nominated along with the chilling documentary Llofruddiaeth Mike O'Leary (ITV Cymru).

Barry Jones has been nominated in the Writer category for the comedy series Rybish (Cwmni Da) while Nia Dryhurst has been nominated in the Director: Factual category for her work on the tense documentary Chwaer Fach, Chwaer Fawr (Dogma).

Congratulating all the nominees, S4C's Director of Content Amanda Rees said: "We are so proud of all the productions which have been nominated for a prestigious BAFTA Cymru 2021.

"The nomination list reflects the standard and range of S4C's service across every genre, celebrating children's programmes, drama, factual, entertainment and current affairs.

"I'm very proud of each and every one – best wishes to everybody in the online awards ceremony."

The digital ceremony will take place on Sunday, 24 October 2021 at 7.00pm across BAFTA's social media channels.
