S4C have picked up three awards at the 2023 Celtic Media Festival held in Dungloe in Ireland this week.
S4C and its production partners Rondo and Boom Cymru, won the awards at the festival which promotes the languages and cultures of Celtic nations in the media.

Children's programme Itopia (Boom Cymru) picked up the award in the Children's Programme category. The sci-fi series' tells the story of the main character, Alys as she questions the technical developments that are happening in her laboratory.

S4C also received an award in the Entertainment (screen) category for the programme Côr Cymru (Rondo) – a programme that clearly struck the right chord with the judges.

The third award was in the Short Form (screenplay) category which was awarded for Stori Stiwdio: Stori Ghofran (Boom Cymru) which tells the story of Ghofran and her family fleeing the war in Syria.

Llinos Griffin Williams, Chief Content Officer at S4C, said:
"I'm so pleased that S4C's programmes were well received at the Celtic Media Festival, and came out on top in three competitive categories.
"I would like to thank everyone who worked on these programmes and also warmly congratulate them."
The festival will take place in Cardiff in 2024.
Siân Doyle, Chief Executive of S4C, officially welcomed the festival to Cardiff last night.
