Seren Jones named RTS Wales Presenter of the Year as S4C wins 7 awards

Seren Jones has been named Presenter of the Year at the RTS Wales Awards 2026 – as S4C picked up a total of seven awards across a wide range of categories.

The awards were held at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on Friday 17 April.

The annual awards ceremony celebrates the very best content made by both students as well as broadcast industry professionals over the past year.

Seren Jones won the award for presenting Seren Jones: Yn Fyw yn y Dŵr, a Rondo production for S4C.

The documentary, available on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer, sees Seren explore the reasons why so few Black and Asian people swim.

A former journalist and now presenter, Seren is currently filming a new series for S4C on the story of immigration in Wales.

Malen Meredydd won the Rising Star Award for her work on game show Y Deis, a Slam Media production for S4C.

Malen is the Casting Producer on the series, which welcomes pairs of players from all over Wales to roll the Die.

The Factual Entertainment Award went to Y Crwydryn, produced by Docshed for S4C.

The feature film follows country singer Wil Tân on a journey across Wales, as he confronts love, loss and mortality.

Beth yw Pwynt yr Eisteddfod? was awarded Digital Original (produced by Cwmni Da for S4C), while Dreigiau Cadi – Y Briodas won in the Children’s Category (produced by Yellow Barrels for S4C).

The Live Event Award was awarded to one of S4C’s annual highlights - Y Sioe 2025 (a Boom/Slam production for S4C), while the News and Current Affairs (Item) Award went to Newyddion S4C (a BBC Cymru Wales production for S4C).

S4C productions received a total of 21 nominations across 13 categories.

“Seren and Malan’s wins show the talent we have working on S4C productions both on and behind the screen, and we remain passionate about nurturing creativity and skills.

“Congratulations to all those involved – I am hugely grateful to you all for your efforts and am pleased to see them deservedly rewarded.”

To celebrate the popular S4C series Y Cyfweliad, Bronwen Lewis and Fflur Pierce, one of the series’ interviewers, performed Torri’n Rhydd (a Welsh version of Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson) during the awards ceremony.
