    With less than a month to go before the second series of the hit drama series Un Bore Mercher on S4C, the audience at a prestigious television festival in London got an early look at the new series.

    The stars of Un Bore Mercher Eve Myles and Bradley Freegard along with the author of the series Matthew Hall, were talking at the British Film Institute/Radio Times Television Festival on Sunday (April 14).

  • Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion wins prestigious S4C Choir competition to earn Eurovision glory bid

    Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion will fly out to Gothenburg in Sweden in August to represent Wales in the 2019 Eurovision Choir competition after winning the S4C Côr Cymru 2019 choral prize.

    The choir, conducted by musical director Islwyn Evans, triumphed on Sunday 7 April at the Great Hall, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, in an evening presented live on S4C by comperes Heledd Cynwal and Morgan Jones.

    For a second year, S4C and production company Rondo Media are looking for a young star to represent Wales in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This is an unique opportunity for young people between the ages of nine and 14, individuals or groups up to six members, to perform before an audience of millions across Europe and beyond.

  • One step closer to Central Square

    On Monday (25 February 2019) 34 S4C technical staff will transfer to the employment of the BBC. This is the latest step as the channel prepares for co-location with the BBC in Central Square, Cardiff at the beginning of 2020. From then the BBC will be responsible for broadcasting and distributing S4C content, on television and online. The BBC will also be responsible for the remainder of S4C's technical infrastructure.

    S4C has announced that postgraduate student Megan Davies has won the channel's T Glynne Davies Scholarship for 2018-19.

    Megan, 23, originally from Pontarddulais near Swansea, is currently a student following the MA Broadcast Journalism course at Cardiff University's School of Journalism, Media and Culture.

  • New company to provide subtitling service

    S4C has announced that Cyfatebol has won the contract to provide the channel's subtitling service.

    Cyfatebol will provide English subtitles, including English subtitles for live programmes and those delivered close to time of broadcast and Welsh subtitles for S4C over the next four years.
