S4C is to broadcast an appeal by the Disaster Emergency Committee for humanitarian aid following the devastating earthquake in Nepal.

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on Saturday 25 April.
It has been confirmed that over 3,000 people have been killed and the devastation has affected the lives of 5.3 million people. The tremors destroyed homes and essential services such as water, electricity and transport. Isolated communities have been cut off completely by landslides which have made it impossible to communicate with them.
DEC is calling for support to provide emergency shelter, food, clean water and medical supplies for the millions affected.
The DEC appeal will be broadcast on S4C on Tuesday 28 April at 8.55, with S4C joining other major broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and Channel 5 in their support.
