Join S4C this summer to enjoy all the competing, excitement and atmosphere of one of the main events in the British agricultural calendar – the Royal Welsh Show.
Coverage starts on Sunday 19 July - the eve of the Show - with Rhagflas y Sioe (Preview) at 21.00, offering a taste of the feast ahead.
From Monday 20 July to Thursday 23 July, viewers can watch all the competitions and activities live on S4C, S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer, with English commentary and subtitles available.
Four live feeds will stream on S4C’s digital platforms bringing the day’s action from the Main Ring, North Ring, South Ring and Central Ring from 8.00am onwards. This year, for the first time, there will be a live stream of the main beef cattle championships on both Monday and Tuesday afternoon, along with coverage of the shearing competitions from the shearing shed on Monday to Wednesday afternoon. Coverage will be available via the @YSioeS4C YouTube channel, Y Sioe Facebook page, BBC iPlayer and S4C Clic, all with English commentary available. Viewers will be able to rewind the live feed and re-watch the stream on S4C Clic and BBCiPlayer for up to three days (when viewing on a desktop or laptop), so there’s no need to miss a second of the Show.
Magazine programme Heno will broadcast live from the Showground every evening at 7.00pm, and the current affairs programme Pawb a’i Farn will also broadcast from the Show on Wednesday 22 July at 8.00pm.
The Newyddion S4C news team will bring the latest news from the Show throughout the event via their website, app and social media accounts.
Alongside the live coverage, S4C will celebrate rural life across its digital platforms. Hansh, S4C’s content service for young people will share content from the Show on its social media channels, featuring Colnet and Soarian, Huw Jones and Mari Meddins, as well as episodes of Carufanio.
At the same time, popular series from the S4C archive – including Tir, Darn o Dir and Martha Jac a Sianco – will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer and S4C Clic.
If that’s not enough, viewers can catch up with the day’s entertainment and events every evening in S4C’s highlights programme at 9.00pm.
The presenting team, who will be exploring the showground, bringing viewers a taste of all the event has to offer, from music and food to displays and crafts are Nia Roberts, Alun Elidyr, Ifan Jones Evans, Meinir Howells, Aeron Pughe, Hannah Parr, Heledd Cynwal and Gwion Ellis. Later in the evening, Ifan Jones Evans and Mari Lovgreen will look back at the day’s highlights.
Nia Roberts will be presenting from the Show for the 20th year this year:
“You can’t help but notice the developments that take place on the Showground from year to year. The traditional foundations remain strong, but it’s great to see the event continuing to move forward. The food and drink village, Gwledd, has long since established itself, as have the Horticulture Village and the Flower Festival! Last year we welcomed the Heavy Horse Village. What will be new this year? A little bird tells me that the South Glamorgan Hall has had a facelift, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the grand old lady looks in 2026!
“There’s something for everyone at the Royal Welsh Show: the competition rings, Young Farmers’ activities, produce in the Food Hall, sheep shearing, and of course the Main Ring entertainment. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to appreciate rural life in Wales.
“As a team, we know how much the Show means to people in Wales and beyond, and it’s a privilege for us to share the story of the 2026 Show on S4C.”
On the weekend following the Royal Welsh Show, S4C will broadcast the Corwen Sheep Shearing Championships. Cneifio Corwen will be streamed live on the S4C YouTube channel on Saturday 25 July. Alun Elidyr will commentate, and Aeron Pughe and Wil Hendreseifion Evans will present the coverage, bringing viewers all the excitement, anticipation, competition and discussion live, exclusively on S4C’s YouTube channel (English commentary available).
To round off the weekend, a special one-hour programme on Sunday 26 July at 7.30pm will bring together all the highlights from the week at the Royal Welsh Show.
There will also be a special Royal Welsh Show edition of Garddio a Mwy, airing on 10 August, in which the three presenters will explore a variety of gardens and the produce displayed on the exhibition stands. The programme will also follow Adam’s preparations ahead of the event as he looks forward to overseeing the Horticulture Village.
